Obituary

Mr. Nolen Massey Grant 92 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at the McKenzie Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Intermentwill follow in Parkers Crossroads Cemetery. Bro Dossie Wheatley and Pastor Mark Carrigan will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday after 5:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are the Air Force Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers are Roy Grant, Roger Grant, Mickey Grant and Wallace Taylor.

Mr. Grant was born October 30, 1920 in Henderson County, Tennessee to the late Durward Oliver and Lille Ethel (Boyd) Grant. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service, retired from the Huntingdon Post Office after 16 years of service, was a WWII Air Force veteran, a member of the Rock Springs Methodist Church and was an avid golfer, hunter, gardener and outdoorsman. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Cornelia Grant, three brothers, Berlin "Putt" Grant, Joe "Jack" Grant and James "Buddy" Grant.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandy Barnett (husband Philip) of Huntingdon, Judy Smith (husband Cary Don) of Clarksburg, two sons, Richard Grant of Huntingdon, Russell Grant (wife Janice) of Jackson and two sisters, Shelby Grant of Nashville and Mary Butonne Ellis of Huntingdon. He also leaves six grandchildren, Blake Grant, Jennifer Carroll, Beth Barnett, Julie Todd, Josh Grant and Tina Davis and three great grandchildren, Nolen, Austin and Grant.
