Mrs. Olean Edwards Blount, 101, of Westport, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 572, Huntingdon, TN  38344

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating.  Interment will follow in Jamison Cemetery.

Pallbearers who will serve are Keith Blanks, Kevin Blanks, Mark Clenney, Eric Blount, Todd Ross and Mike Pinkley.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Blount was born September 18, 1919 in Carroll County, Tennessee.  She was a home maker and wrote the Westport News for The Carroll County News Leader for thirty years.  She was a member of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church.  She became a Christian at the age of fourteen at New Hope Baptist Church.  Mrs. Olean Blount is preceded in death by her parents James Gerthel and Hattie Cary Edwards, her husband, whom she married December 29, 1938, John Roy Blount, one grandson, William Carter Ross, two sisters, Iola Shooter Corbin, Clarice Feazel, three brother, Bill Edwards, Jessie Edwards and Jerry Edwards.

She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth "Liz" Blanks of Bartlett, Brenda Clenney of Jackson, and one son, Johnny Blount (Barbara) of Westport.  She also leaves six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
