Mrs. Opal Jewell Lee Tharpe, 82, of Hollow Rock, Tennessee passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Hollow Rock Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Mt. Nebo- Pisgah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at the Hollow Rock Church of Christ from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Tharpe was born November 7, 1935 in Bruceton, Tennessee to the late Luranzie and Mary (Cleaves) Tharpe.

She is survived by one sister, Vera Nesbitt of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers, Willie Howard Tharpe and Daniel Barnhill both of Nashville; two granddaughters, Brittany Jones and Lakeitha Jones both of Waverly, one grandson, Scott Jones of Huntingdon and one great grandson, Hayden Barker; two aunts, V. Skinner of Mansfield and Annie Tharpe of Paris. She also leaves three nieces, Cora Tharpe Bomar, Fortune (Grey) Russell, and Rosanna (Tim) Townes; six nephews, Marvin (Tarlean) Tharpe, Gregory (Sula) Tharpe, Ray (Delisa) Tharpe, Robert (Faye) Utley, Danny Nesbitt, And Terry Nesbitt of St. Louis, MO, a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews some in Memphis, TN and Chicago, IL and many friends.
