Mrs. Rachel Sewell, 88, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Life Care Center of Bruceton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Russ Wilkins, Bro. Henry Simpson and Bro. Jacob Harris officiating the service. Interment will follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers to serve are Paul Scates Jr., Paul Scates III, Stanley Scates, Justin Sharpe, Joe Hampton and Glen Sharpe

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to First Baptist Church Childcare or the Alzheimer's Association.
Mrs. Sewell was born December 29, 1929 in McKenzie, Tennessee the daughter of the late Jessie I. Roberts and Nell (Pinson) Roberts. She was a member of First Baptist Church and helped care for the children for many years. She was also a seamstress for H.I.S. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Denver Hicks; her second husband, Sammy Douglas Sewell and two brothers, J.I. Roberts and Willis Martin Roberts.

She is survived by a son, Charles Hicks of Dover, Delaware; a daughter, Elaina Sharpe (Glen)of Brighton, Tennessee; a sister, Carolyn Scates of Huntingdon; A sister in law, Dorothy Jean Barker of Huntingdon; a brother in law Robert Hicks; five grandchildren, Justin, Shelley, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Cassandra and six great grandchildren.
