Mrs. Rita Sue Woodson, 78 of McKenzie, Tennessee passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Waters of McKenzie.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Chaplain Patricia Todd officiating.  Interment will follow in Marlowe Cemetery in Fruitvale.

Pallbearers who will serve are Jeff Mathews, J. J. Woodson, Zachary Woodson, Thomas Woodson, Brandon Bennett, and Christian Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Woodson, Joe Martin, Ben Woodson, Ian Woodson, and Elijah Seivers.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Woodson was born October 5, 1944 in Grundy, Virginia to the late Andrew and Fannie Marie (Baldwin) Charles.  She was co-owner of a local insurance agency.  Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Woodson, three brothers, Bobby Charles, Douglas Charles, and Rondal Charles.

She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Mathews, Murfreesboro, four sons, Jeff Mathews (Kay) of Lascassas, J. J. Woodson (Katie) of Paducah, Kentucky, Zachary Woodson (Alla) of Chicago, Illinois, Thomas Woodson (Keri) of McKenzie, two sisters, Patricia Blizzard of Stone Coal, Virginia, and Belva O'Quinn of Bristol, TN.   She also leaves fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
