Obituary

Roger Dale Neely, 55 of the Mixie Community went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 10, 2012.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment followed in Mixie Church Cemetery. Bro. Tony Boyd and Bro. Bryan Oakes officiated the service.

Pallbearers who served were Nicholas Neely, Robert Neely, Bradley Harris, Kevin Williams, Gary Farmer, Ray Hays, Sherre Harris, Terre Harris. Honorary Pallbearers were Jimmy Wade, Landis Brown, Jason Wade and Jackie Scott.

Roger was born on March 14, 1957 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Arlie Neely and Annie Mae (Smith) Neely. Roger owned and operated a furniture and appliance store and attended Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy, two sisters; Lily and Linda and a nephew, Blake Arnold.
Roger was an inspiration to all who knew him. He touched more lives than he could even begin to imagine with his love of the Lord and his brave battle with Multiple Myeloma. He loved his family and he loved life. He was so brave during this journey in his life, quitting was not in his vocabulary. He said quitters don't win. Today he has won, he is with his Lord he loved so much and his family has wonderful memories to cherish forever.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joy, three children; Johnny (Mary Jane) Neely, Brandi (Ben) Lee both of Huntingdon, Brandon (Amy) Treadwell of Flatwoods, five grandchildren; Rachael Neely, Willie Jones, Rylee Holladay, Elizabeth Mathis and Lacey Mathis, six brothers; Wayne Neely of Ashland City, JC Neely (Cindy) of Hollow Rock, Randy (Sharon) Neely of Olmstead, Illinois, Fred Neely of Huntingdon, Raymond (Terri) Neely of Surry, Virginia and Joseph (Denise) Neely of Baxter, Four sisters; Reathia (David) Adcox of Huntingdon, Ruby (Greg) Herron of Salem, Alabama, Teresa Wood and Vicky (Ronnie) Hendrix both of Darden, mother -in- law and father- in- law; Nancy and Jimmy Roberts, Jr. of Clifton, sister-in-law; Nanette Arnold of Lobelville and special friend; Bro. Tony Boyd. He also leaves a host of family and friends.
