Mrs. Rolie Mae (Rivers) Phillips, 69 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Mrs. Phillips was born November 14, 1949 in Huntingdon, to the late Larmon Rivers and Effie Carline (Parker) Rivers. She had retired from catering for the University of Illinois and was a member of the Parkers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was very sweet, always smiling and loved her family with all her heart and soul. Her heart touched all who knew and loved her. Rolie Mae accepted Christ at an early age joining Parker's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She later moved to Champaign, Illinois and joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in Huntingdon public school system. She was also preceded in death by a son, Marty Lewis Phillips, two sisters; Inell (Danny) Melton and Marynell Rivers, one brother, James (Mary) Rivers, and two grandsons; Dominique Phillips and Corion Artist.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Fredrick Lewis Phillips, two daughters; Gabriella Phillips and Kimberly Phillips, both of Huntingdon, one son; Patrick Phillips, of Murfreesboro, four brothers; Willard (Pam) Rivers and Joe L. Rivers, both of Huntingdon, Johnny (Susie) Melton of Lexington, Ricky Rivers of Memphis, six sisters; Janice Rivers of Jackson, Sandra Rivers of Huntingdon, Brenda Rivers of Nashville, Lisa Melton of Wildersville, Wanda Rivers of Memphis, Carla Rivers of Murfreesboro, and one aunt, Norma Mebane. She also leaves five grandchildren; Gabriella Phillips, Anthony Phillips, Davion Phillips, KeShaun Phillips, and Marty Phillips, six great-grandchildren; Maya Durst, Jeremiah Durst, Chloe Durst, Andrea Phillips, Nala Phillips, Makiya Phillips, along with a host of neices, nephews, and devoted friends.
