Roosevelt Brooks' Obituary
Mr. Roosevelt Brooks 80, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Humboldt General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens. Elder Willie C. Moore will officiate the services.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Mr. Brooks was born July 10, 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Odell and Lualean (Bolton) Brooks. He was retired from TVA, served in the United States Army and National Guard and was a Korean and Gulf War Veteran. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Reed and Odell Brooks, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Freddie Mae Brooks; one daughter, Melissa Thomas (husband Carl) of Huntingdon; four sons, Shadeed Aquil Salim of Memphis, Michael Thurmond ( wife Linda) of Augusta, Georgia, Derrick Brooks of Huntingdon, and Rosie Brooks of Michigan. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
