Mr. Roy Earl Smith, 86 of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at his home.

Memorial Donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Palmer Shelter Cemetery.  Rev. Roy Dale Smith will officiate the service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Adam Smith, Joshua Smith, Justin Smith, Jerimy Smith, Branson Smith, Brennon Smith, Allan Smith, Jacob Smith.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM.

Mr. Smith was born August 21, 1933 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late Douglas Bud and Cora Belle (Weaver) Smith.  He graduated from Huntingdon High with the Class of 1953.  In 1955 to 1960 he served in the Army National Guard. After working 20 years at Reichhold Chemical Company and 10 years at Malone & Hyde, he retired in 1995.  He loved people and enjoyed life. Roy   married Sue Hancock on August 3, 1974. He was a member of Donaldson Free Will Baptist Church, but presently attending Cofers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Douglas Glenn Smith, four sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, of 45 years, Sue Smith, son and daughter-in-law, Roy Dale Smith (Judi) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter and son-in-law Teresa Johnson (Donnie) of Carmi, Illinois, daughter-in-law Shelia Smith of Lexington, Tennessee, son, Danny Ray Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, two sisters, Robbie Judd of Gallatin, Tennessee, and Lucille Kee of Huntingdon, Tennessee.  He also leaves eleven Grand Children,  Adam (Julie Ann), Amanda (Jeff Lyles), Allan (Jessica), Sabrina (Jeff Jones) Branson (Sammy Jo), Brennon (Catherine Oliver), Joshua (Stephanie), Justin (Laura), Jerimy (Amanda), Jacob (Nikky), Dylan, eighteen Great Grand-Children, Adalie Smith, Anna Smith, Braden Lyles, Bryan Lyles, Josiah Lyles, Everly Smith, Eliza Smith, Emeline Smith, Zavian Hailey, Jewele Jones, Rylan Smith, Decker Smith, Isabelle Smith, Sophia Smith, Lucas Smith, Landon Smith, Sirius Smith , and Nicole Hunter.
