Mrs. Ruby Christine Smothers, 91 of Jackson, Tennessee formerly of Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Foster officiating the service. Interment will follow in Long Rock Cemetery.

Pallbearers to serve are Steve Hutchison, Chase Hutchison, Cale Hutchison, Jimmy Rich, Dennis Rich, Steve Britt and Isaac Britt

The family will receive friends Thursday in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Smothers was born January 10, 1927 in Camden, Tennessee to the late Elie Elmer Smith and Lou Jeannettie (McMurtry) Smith. She was a retired machinist for Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of Local Amalgamated Union 525. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pershing "Pap" Smothers; two brothers, Edward Lee Smith and William Elmer Smith; two sisters, Lillie Mae Greer and Hazel Britt.
