Obituary

Mrs. Shirley Ann Turner, 72 of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Sis. Billie Allen and Bro. Wayne Burton will officiate the service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Sam Turner, Ethan Turner, Josh Dedmon, Braden Turner, Ricky Meals, Scott Turner, Josh Meals, and Russell Meals.

The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday after 5:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Turner was born March 12, 1940 in Moore County, North Carolina to the late Joseph Frank and Bertha Lee (Kimble) Livengood. She was a member of the Summerhill Missionary Baptist Church, a retired Registered Nurse for Baptist Memorial Hospital, a member of the American Legion Auxillary, she graduated from Austin Peay State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree. She often said "I loved being a nurse so much that I would have done it for free". She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Dr. Cindy Turner Dedmon.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years; Chief Warrant Officer Harvey Leon Turner, two sons, Steven Turner (wife Rae) of Shelbyville, Kentucky and Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Turner (wife Paula) of Suwanee, Georgia, one sister, Peggy Comer (husband Carl) of Concord, North Carolina, three brothers, Bobby Livengood (wife Irene) of Carthage, North Carolina, Joseph Frank Livengood, II of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Edward Thomas Livengood (wife Vetres) of Carthage, North Carolina. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Sarah Beth Turner, Joshua Turner Dedmon, Samuel Bart Turner, Ethan Brett Turner, Katelin Ann Turner, Madison Blaire Turner, and Braden Paul Turner.
