Mr. Sidney Matthew DePriest 99, of Friendship, Tennessee passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Faith in Christ Church. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Medina. Bro. Wayne Burton will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends on Friday at the Faith in Christ Church from 4:00 PM until time of service on Saturday.

Mr. DePriest was born August 8, 1915 in Gibson County, Tennessee to the late Thomas Green and Virginia Hester (Powers) DePriest. He was a retired farmer, member of the Faith in Christ Church, a coon hunter and was a United States Army WWII Veteran who served in Normandy France and Germany. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Irene DePriest; one son, Stanley DePriest; son-in-law, Jesse Edwards; three brothers, J. H DePriest, Quenton DePriest and Julian DePrist.

He is survived by five daughters, Carolyn Edwards of Cedar Grove, Betsy Sego (husband Jimmy) of Friendship, Lynda McAdoo (husband Andy) of McKenzie, Joyce Woods (husband Michael) of Huntingdon, and Regina Henderson of Gleason, three sons, Herbert DePriest (wife Chris Galloway) of Huntingdon , Thomas DePriest of Friendship, and Jimmy DePriest (wife Linda) of Clarksburg. He also leaves eighteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
