Mrs. Stella Gray Hampton Cary 81, of Bruceton, Tennessee passed away Thursday, October 03, 2013 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Bro. David Bayer will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 PM until time of service.
Pallbearers who will serve are Steve Cary, Mark Cary, Chris Hampton, Johnny Ellis and Chris Weatherly.
Mrs. Cary was born September 19, 1932 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Roland and Birdie Lee (Harris) Hampton. She was retired from the Henry I Siegel Company, a substitute teacher for the Hollow Rock – Bruceton school system and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bruceton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Cary and three brothers, Delbert Hampton, Gilbert Hampton and William Hampton.
She is survived by one daughter, Martha Neal (husband Jerry) of Bruceton; three sisters, Barbara Williams who she raised as her daughter, Dorothy Ellis both of Buena Vista, Alice Lowe of Greenville, Kentucky and two brothers, Jimmy Hampton of Camden and Roland Hampton, Jr. of Burlington, North Carolina. She also leaves one granddaughter, Jessica Hord (husband Sean) of Memphis, several nieces, nephews, special little buddy, Gage Weatherly and two great grand dogs, Benji and Sadie
