Mr. James Steve Carroll 53, of Puryear, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Palmer Shelter Cemetery. Bro. Roger Banks will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Carroll was born April 26, 1959 in Huntingdon, Tennessee. He was a member of the Puryear Church of Christ and served in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his father; Harold Avery Carroll and a brother; Gary Wayne Carroll.

He is survived by his wife Judy McClanahan Carroll of Puryear, one daughter Jennifer Arnold (Chad) of Gleason, one son; Jonathan Carroll of Waterloo, Iowa, one step son; James Lee McClanahan (wife Martha) of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, his mother; Elinna Ruth Carroll of Milan, four sisters; Judy Latta (husband J. R.) of Jackson, Barbara Battisse of McKenzie, Melissa Carroll of Jackson, Betty Corley (husband Mark) of Texarcana, Texas and one brother; Harold Avery Carroll, Jr. of Milan. He also leaves seven grandchildren; Andi Thomas, Taylor Ann Carroll, Abigail Carroll, Brady Carroll, Avery Story, Alex Arnold, Taylor Arnold, and step granddaughter, Toni Robbins.
