Thomas "Tommy" Gregory Dew, 78, of Ripley, Tennessee passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at Mary's Chapel Baptist Church in Ripley. Bro. Doug Clinton, Bro. Brent Willis and Bro. Charlie Halliburton will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in Mary's Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Mary's Chapel on Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.

Mr. Dew was born on October 25, 1941, to the late Slyvester and Ruby (Poindexter) Dew. He was a retired foreman for the City of Ripley Gas and Water department where he worked for 45 years. He was a long-time member and former deacon at Mary's Chapel Baptist Church. He loved God, his family, and his community and would not hesitate to help anyone in need, unconditionally, in any way that he could. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sybil Crain, a granddaughter, Lillie Dew, and his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Dew, who passed away in June.

He is survived by his son, Steve Dew, of Ripley, a sister, Linda Durham (Larry) of Covington, a Daughter -in- law Kim Dew, of Dyersburg, two sisters - in-law, Sarah Byrd, of Covington, and Linda Jarrett (Jim) of Ripley, a brother -in-law Bobby Byrd, of Birmingham, Alabama,  five grandchildren, Stephen Dew (Jordan) of McKenzie, Tyler Wiggins, of Halls, Gabbie Dew, Noah Dew, and Jon-Bradlee Dew, all of Dyersburg, two honorary grandchildren, Corey Phillips of Ripley, and Roger Leake II, of Memphis, and his first Great-Grandchild on the way, Carolyn Jean (CJ) Dew.  He also leaves several nieces, nephews, church family and dear friends.
