Mrs. Vera Gilbert, 90, of McKenzie, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Obion River District. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Obion River District on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Gilbert was born December 23, 1925 in Mt. Olive, Tennessee to the late Gideon and Linnie (Hilliard) Price. She was a representative for the Northwest Tennessee Economical. Development for 42 years, a member of the Greater Enon Missionary Baptist Church; were she sang in the Choir and was a member of Women of Purpose. She was also a lifetime member of the Webb Alumni. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ike Gilbert Sr.; two daughters, Ruth Gilbert and Clara Gilbert; two sons, Omar Gilbert and Bobby Gilbert.

She is survived by two daughters, Sletia Gilbert of Memphis, Nellie Gilbert of McKenzie; one son, Ike Gilbert Jr. (wife Jane) of Huntingdon; one sister, Mattie Berry; two brothers, Roger Price and Leroy Price all of San Francisco, California. She also leaves nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
