Mrs. Vera Blanche Tynes 94, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mayfield Memory Gardens in Mayfield, Kentucky. Bro. Fred Ward will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Mrs. Tynes was born May 22, 1918 in Perry County, Tennessee to the late Lennon and Clara Elizabeth (Cook) Roberts. She was a retired clerk for Holiday Inn's, a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church, Senior Citizens and Angel Choir. She loved to play Rook and Bingo. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Alfred Tynes, three sisters, Altha Davis, Mae Bond, Mavis and four brothers, Ed Roberts, Jimmy Roberts, Ralph Roberts and Ray Roberts.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Prewitt (husband Dr. Ben Pewitt II) of Pensacola, Florida and one son, Terry Tynes (wife Diane) of Huntingdon. She also leaves four grandchildren. Robert Prewitt of Pensacola, Florida, Ben Prewitt III of Miami, Florida, Keith Tynes of Little Rock, Arkansas and Laura Tynes of Bells and six great grandchildren, Eli Vader, Kalee Vader, Hannah Tynes, Caleb Tynes, Ben Prewitt IV and Ava Prewitt.
