Mrs. Vester A. Staten, 68 of Clarksburg, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Hopewell Baptist Church with interment to follow in Hopewell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Hopewell Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until time of the service.

Mrs. Staten was born August 30, 1954 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late John Lee and Daisy Mae Johnson.  She confessed in Christ at a young age, was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at H.I.S. Bruceton for many years and also worked at Lexington Manor until her health failed.  Other than her parents she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Johnson, Rickey Johnson, Edward Lee Johnson, and one sister, Rena Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Eddie Staten, three sons, Gregory Staten, Jonathan Staten and Eric (Lawanda) Staten, a daughter, Carla Staten, six brothers, Oscar (Ula) Johnson, Tony (Donna) Johnson, Dewayne (Cassandra) Johnson, Norman Johnson, Kenny K. Johnson, Danny (Diane) Johnson, four sisters, Diane (Sylvester) Pritchard, Evelyn Stuart, Kathy (Kerwine) Johnson and May Helen (Larry) Arnold, the brothers-in-law, Rufus Staten and Ray Staten. She also leaves seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
