Viola Johnson Sumler, 91, of Beattyville, Kentucky; passed away peacefully at her home in Phoenix, Arizona on Jan 6, 2023.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Millard Johnson and Emma Mays Johnson Flinchum both of Beattyville, Ky, brothers Robert Flinchum of Lexington, Ky, William Flinchum of Nicholasville, Ky and daughter Donna Sumler of Lexington, Ky.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Arthur Sumler, of Phoenix, AZ. Her children, William Sumler (Daniel) of Phoenix, AZ, Douglas Sumler (Karen) of Big Sandy, TN and Diana Roberts (Stewart)  of Chesterfield, VA.

Grandchildren; Michael Roberts (Shilo) of Guntersville AL, Jessica Sugg of Midlothian VA, Scott Roberts (Erin) of Amelia Courthouse VA, Erin Sumler of Big Sandy, TN, Kari Sumler, Cole Sumler, and Adam Sumler all of Riverside, CA.

Great Grandchildren; Gage and RJ Roberts, Gavyn Nelson, Holden & Jack Sugg, Greysen and Ella Roberts, Kacie Sumler and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held on February 17, 2023, 11:00 am at Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon, TN with internment to follow at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads, Wildersville, TN.
