Virginia Orman Hilliard 86, of Huntingdon, Tennessee passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home in Huntingdon. Interment will follow in Davis Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Hunter Jones will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 PM to 9 PM and on Friday from 9 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers who will serve are Mike Hoover, Clay Farris, Elijah Hilliard, Brad Douglas, Allen Kee, and Allen Espy.

Virginia was born September 8, 1926 in Crockett Mills, Crockett County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of James Floyd and Sally Elsie Lineberry Orman. She was the granddaughter of James Monroe and Mary Caledonia Mathis Orman and Joseph Goodlow and Lura Anna Harris Lineberry. She was a 1947 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Union University for two years.

Virginia married Albert Lloyd Hilliard on August 20, 1949 at North Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson. Al and Jen lived in Memphis where they raised their family until moving to the Hilliard farm in Huntingdon in 1976.

Jen was a faithful St. Louis Cardinals fan since the 1960s. Her children knew not to call her during a game because they would not have her full attention as she listened to the game. She would squeal when "her boys" got a hit or made a good play. She loved them even when they lost. She was an accomplished seamstress and award-winning quilter. She won many red, blue, and purple ribbons at the Carroll County Fair for her exquisite work. Jen loved to read historical novels and Christian romances.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Albert Lloyd Hilliard; her children Cathy (Mike) Hoover of Jackson, TN, Allison Hilliard of Huntingdon, and Alex (Linda) Hilliard of Huntingdon; her grandchildren Shannon (Clay) Farris of Olive Branch, MS, Bambi and April Hoover of Jackson, TN, Sarah (Jason) Gillis of Elizabeth City, NC, Grace Hilliard-Koshinsky of Boston, MA, Bethany Koshinsky of Washington, DC and Elijah Hilliard of Huntingdon; great-grandchildren Ethan Hoover, Riley Hoover and Catelynn Maness all of Jackson, TN, Aidan and Chase Farris of Olive Branch, MS, and Rachel and Mahayla Gillis of Elizabeth City, NC; sister Margie Stricker of Cookeville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Food Backpack Ministry at Eastview Baptist Church or the Ruritan Club in Huntingdon in her memory.
