Obituary

Mr. W. Albert Stokes, 81 of Concord, Tennessee, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating.  Interment will follow at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parker's Crossroads with military honors.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Mr. Stokes was born November 11, 1940 at Stokes Farm near the Concord Community, to the late Eddie Wright and Mabel (Williams) Stokes.  He worked for CSX Railroad as a conductor, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Huntingdon Lodge #106, a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite, and served in the Marines and also served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He also was one of the founding members of the Natchez Trace Horsemens Association and he was the chairman of the Tom Boyd Memorial Trail Ride for 35 years.  Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Stokes, and a brother-in-law, Kenny Noles.

He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Jean Miller (Richard) of Camden, Elizabeth Stokes Pulliam of Dickson (Russ), one son, Kyle C. Stokes of Springfield, Missouri, two sisters, Nina Faye Smith (Dewey), Mary Elizabeth Noles, both of Paris, three brothers, Dick Stokes (Toni) of Huntingdon, Steve Stokes (LeaEtta), and Dennis Stokes (Jeannine), both of Concord.  He also leaves five grandchildren, Carly Bayless, Emily Pierce (Michael), Trisha Miller, Henry Bayless (Liz), Grace Pulliam, three great-grandchildren, Kay Pierce, Emma Pierce, and Lydia Bayless.
