Obituary

Mr. Waller Eugene Brinkley, 96 formerly of Carroll County, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Humphreys County Nursing Home in Waverly.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jason Jones will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Sunday from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

He was born April 8, 1916, the son of Gene and Lena Waller Brinkley in Cedar Grove, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 68 years, Nellie Robinson Brinkley.

He was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Cedar Grove. During the 40's and 50's he worked at the Milan Arsenal, later he worked at Milan Milling, Service Lumber Company in Huntingdon and Lewelling's Paint Store in Huntingdon in addition to farming.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mathai and the staff of Humphreys County Nursing Home for their care and compassion during his final months.

He is survived by one son; Lewelling Brinkley (wife Barbara) of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He also leaves two grandchildren; Brenda Brinkley Dunham (husband Bobby), Charles Waller Brinkley (wife Tonya) and six great grandchildren.
