Mr. William Roy Gowan, 80 of Lavinia, Tennessee passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood room of Chase Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Pallbearers who will serve are Eric Underwood, Blake Underwood, Bennie Pratt, John Mark Gowan, Ian Gowan and Jimmy Phillips.

Mr. Gowan was born October 9, 1931 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Cecil Gowan and Delia (Little) Gawan. He was a millwright for the Milan Arsenal and a Korean War Veteran for the United States Air Force. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Junaita Rollins Woodard.

He is survived by two daughters; Kala Ann Wellman (Roy) of Oregon, Kathy Louise Gowan, one son, William "Bill" R. Gowan, Jr. both of Washington, one sister; Carolyn Utley of Huntingdon, one brother; Johnny Fred Gowan (Patricia) of Trezevant and special friends; Randy and Rhonda Wright of Lavinia. He also leaves four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
